  1. I watched Carrie Underwood sing “How Great Thou Art” with Vince Gill accompanying her on his guitar last night and literally cried as her beautiful voice gave tribute to our one and only mighty God. That song was the best song I have ever heard Carrie sing. Whan I lay on a gurney outside the operating room awaiting cancer surgery 3 years ago, I was listening to her song “Jesus Take The Wheel” with my IPod and all through my long and painful recovery. It got me through!!!!

May God Bless Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill for reminding me of that on last night’s performance.

  2. Carrie Underwood Is a beautiful singer! She is classy and it is always obvious how much she cares about people and country music! Carrie and Vince were wonderfull…what they did was from the heart! It was amazing…SPECIAL!

  3. She is such an amazing singer. This is why I love her so much!! My dad passed away two years ago from cancer. He loved her version of this song and would play it over and over. It was played at his funeral, so this song will always bring me to my knees and tears to my eyes!! I love you daddy!! I miss you so much!!

  5. Why didn’t Carrie have a line in ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’?

    • Because they were afraid she might take the shine away from such amazing legends as Reba, Martina and Wynonna ;D They knew she will become the music legend of all time!! :b

    • I believe she may have actually strained it with giving all she had singing “How Great THou Art”. Can’t think of why else she wouldn’t have sang a little solo as well

      • Anonymous says:

Pretty close I think if you look at the arrangement it’s pretty clear she was supposed to sing and M.L. Took over her lines otherwise it makes no sense at all for M.L. to have twice as many as anyone else.

  6. Carrie seemed a bit anxious about singing this hymn but once she started, I could actually see the Holy Spirit take over and lift her voice. As she sang that amazingly beautiful hymn, I also saw the Holy Spirit move Wynonna Judd too. Brought me to tears.
Our God is an AWESOME God!

  7. And then proclaim “MY GOD..HOW GREAT THOU ART!”

Thank you Carrie for praising our Lord in such a public forum. God Bless you.

    • Trish –

I TOTALLY agree! More and more we are seeing our Lord praised in a public form!! It is because of people like Carrie who share like this and also through her recent movie debut “Soul Surfer”. I was in Branson, MO this past weekend and at a show called SIX, they do a set of gospel music and the entire crowd loved it! One of the reasons I love going to Branson is it is acceptable to say “Merry CHRISTmas” and to worship the Lord however you feel :)

Carrie Underwood is a great role model and I am so very lucky that my 5 year old looks up to her. We were priveleged to meet her before a show and he was in awe :) She is just as sweet in person as she seems whenever she is on TV.

  8. I missed the program, but my daughter told me to check it out on Utube. WOW! I have never heard that song sung like that, I could tell you felt what you were singing about. God bless you Carrie for praising our Lord & Savior in such a public way. You ARE the role model for our youth. Thank you.

  9. wow!!! what can you say . the best HOW GREAT THOU ART i have heard sung.vince and carrie are very classy people who love there GOD and are not afraid to show it. GOD bless you both

  10. Wow….now Im raised catholic but not so greatly into the religion, but, id have to say this is one of the most beutiful song and performance ive ever seen. First time hearing vincent gill, he has a most distinctive beutiful voice as well as guitar playing. dont know why ive never heard of him. Carrie, she is beutiful in and out. Great talent, great voice.

  11. Carrie and Vince one word, Wow that was a performance I will never forget Praise God!

  12. Anyone know of any plans to re-broadcast 2011 ACM Girls Night Out ?

  13. Don Bracken says:

Wow, wow, wow! What more can I say? She has one of the most AMAZING voices I have ever heard. Thank you Carrie for unashamedly standing up in front of millions of people singing to our Lord! How GREAT thou art indeed.

    Praise the Lord!

  14. I agree. The Holy Spirit was there and started moving more and more as the song went on. I am from Oklahoma and I am spiritually touched that God has sent such a wonderful person and spirit to enjoy. With all the things going on in the world these days I feel like there is a hunger for this kind of song. To let everyone know that no matter what is happening around them. God is still here, He still cares and he still loves them. He is really the only thing that never changes. God Bless you Vince and Carrie. We love you guys.

  16. Charlene says:

I missed the show on TV and have been getting bits and pieces on the web. I wish you would repeat the show for the people who missed it. Everyone is talking out it saying how great it was and i would really love to see it. So could you PLEASE show if again soon.

  17. Jerry says says:

I’ve played country music guitar now for over 55 years… and every generation has a new talent BUT Carrie will be a legend in her own time for sure and Vince is here to stay like Merle haggard is… all three are destined to be legends for us to admire, respect and love… its what country music brings us…a voice…a song… a soul searching experience.

  18. God is Love, thus Love is the most powerful force in the Universe. The most amazing, wonderful, awsome, incredible and beautiful things that man is privilaged to create in this world, be they statues sculpted, paintings painted, meals cooked or songs sung, were never done for money, the most beautiful things man has ever produced were done so for Love….What you wont do you’ll do for Love. Thank You Carrie(and Vince) for that example of what God,Love,Man & Music can gift to one another. Moving.

  19. I cant stop watching this video and its not because of the spiritual aspect of it. I dont beleive any singer has ever been this true to his/her song as carrie..she aced this song. Her high pitch and low pitch vocals were outstanding, vincent made the guitar sing and cry. Never have i seen such a pure and heartful performance by two entertainers since Elvis…The audience loved it, some were phoney, you can tell the guy with the hat and 5 oclock shadow is a true musician simply by his expressions during vincent guitar solo…he and the sisters were pure. I wish they would put this on cd or music download.

  20. Wow, I have been a country music lover for a long time. I am not ashamed to tell every one that I cried when I heard this song. I missed the show but luckily my friend send it to me and I am very glad that she did. It was such a spiritual experince for me and I am saving it so I can see it when ever I feel like it. Carrie does such a wonderful performance and I also love the guitar solo of Vince. Praise God for these two wonderful singers.
