Alabama performing Song of the South, is today’s addition to Top Country Music Videos.
Song of the South was a single from their album titled Southern Star, which was released in January, 1989. The album had four #1 singles, including this one.
The song was originally recorded by Johnny Russell and released by him in 1981 and is about a poor cotton farming family during the Great Depression of the 1930′s. The Alabama version is a cover version of the original.
