It’s America by Rodney Atkins is the title track from his latest album It’s America, which was released March 2009.

The song itself was pre-released in November 2008 before the album itself as many top singles are. A short time later in May 2009, the song reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

After watching the video I realized I could have included it in my Veteran’s Day Tribute series as part of the songs story includes a goodbye clip to a soldier going off to serve his country and then at the end, a welcome home celebration on his return. I will be sure to include it next year.
