Buck Motorsports Park will host its first concert next July in celebration of Independence Day.
The concert, in partnership with I-105 WIOV, will feature performances from country stars Granger Smith and Justin Moore. I-105 WIOV is the coordinator for country music festival FallFest, now held yearly at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton.
Headliner Moore is known for his hits like “The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home,” “Why We Drink” and “We Didn’t Have Much.”
The 105.1 WIOV Country Freedom Fest Concert will open its doors at 5 p.m. and start the concert at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 3.
The concert was scheduled on a Monday to not conflict with the prior Saturday’s demolition derby event, which has Sunday as its rain date, says Zane Rettew, owner and general manager of The Buck.
Tickets cost $45 for general admission, and it’s an all-ages show. There are a limited number of close-to-the-stage seats available for $85. Parking is free.
The intent is for this concert to become an annual event, if all goes well, says Rettew.
By the time the concert date draws near, the Buck will be completely renovated, with new bleachers, air conditioned bathrooms and a wider track, among other improvements.
The renovations were in Rettew’s five-year plan when he bought the Buck Motorsports Park, but if construction stays on schedule, visitors should be able to see the Buck’s big changes by its New Year’s Eve celebration event.
